COMPLIANCE OFFICER – WINDHOEK, NAMIBIA
We are looking to appoint an experienced Compliance Officer to join our Windhoek, Namibia team.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of financial services clients in Namibia, including, retirement funds, investment managers, insurers, and other regulated businesses, providing practical regulatory advice and helping clients navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment. This is an independent consultant opportunity. The successful candidate will be engaged as an independent contractor.
The position may be performed on a hybrid or remote-working basis, subject to operational requirements and agreement.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should:
- A LLB degree, a compliance qualification will be advantageous.
- A solid understanding of the financial services industry in Namibia.
- Have at least 5 years’ practical compliance or regulatory experience within the financial services industry.
- Be based in Windhoek.
- Have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
- Have the ability to work independently from a home office..
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing a portfolio of compliance clients.
- Conducting compliance readiness assessments on key pieces of legislation.
- Provision of consulting services to clients as required.
- Conducting compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Providing practical regulatory advice to clients.
- Assisting clients with implementing regulatory requirements.
- Preparing compliance reports and Board reports.
- Identifying regulatory risks and recommending practical solutions.
- Providing regulatory training to clients and other stakeholders.
- Liaising with regulators where appropriate.
- Keeping clients informed of regulatory developments.
- Supporting clients with governance, conduct, AML/CFT/CPF and broader compliance obligations.

- Understanding of the Financial Institutions and Markets Act “FIMA” requirements
- Financial Intelligence Act (FIA)
- AML/CFT/CPF compliance
- Governance and risk management
Computer Skills
Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams)
